The model itself was carefully made from photos and drawings that were available. This is the first model to have the new H.D. (High Detail). The hull has all of the deck detail and weld seams molded into the fiberglass hull. The kit features a hand laid fiberglass body measuring 82 inches long with a beam measuring 7 inches wide. The top deck is made from epoxy as so is the sail. The sail comes as a complete unit, featuring the detail and bridge area molded in. No more gluing the sail halves together.
The stern features twin brass props with stuffing boxes molded into the prop fins. All rudders feature new heavy duty 5/32 shafts and connectors. A long spanner wrench is included in the kit. All zincs are also molded around the stern area, like the real ship.
THE TOP DECK
The deck features all of the detail that is on the real Nautilus as she sits today. A screw that is under the front escape hatch holds down the top deck. A molded escape hatch holds down the back with a screw molded in. The front diving planes are also moveable. The sail has all of the detail molded in, along with the periscopes that come along with the kit. Anchor and decals are also furnished with the model. If you want a model of the Nautilus that is museum quality and also can be used for R/C, this would be the kit for you. R/C options are available, write or call for information.
